St-Médard Church (Click to see the story)
Following the decree of Mgr Cooke, bishop of Trois-Rivières, the parish priest Louis Pothier, whose body rests under the choir of the church, had the current church built, in neo-baroque style, all of stone, with the plans by the renowned architect associated with the famous Ballairgé, J.Ferdinand Peachy of Quebec and the contractor Cyrias Ouellet, of the Township of Warwick, at a cost of $19,600.00. Its area: 135 feet long by 63 feet wide and 30 feet high. The church has a sacristy 44 feet long and 36 feet wide.
On December 22, 1874, Bishop Laflèche came to bless this beautiful church. In 1918, the church was electrified at a cost of $2,559.65.
In the bell tower, 190 feet high, covered with tin, are installed 4 bells blessed in 1882, with the notes fa-sol-la. Their weight is 5250 pounds. They were electrified in 1946.
